I met today with Crimson Publishing here in the UK. Over yummy wood-fired pizza and Pinot Grigio in Richmond, we chatted about Beijing Blur, and its imminent UK release.
The group is using Beijing Blur to launch a travel series for readers who want a bit more from their travel memoirs - something edgier, and nothing like the shelf-stuffing babyboomer manuals; you know: 'My Grandma's Romanian Recipes', 'The French Are Cooler Than Almost Everyone Else', 'Learning A Difficult Language In Another Country And My Quirky Classmates'...
Plenty of interest already from UK bookstores and publications, curious about China's other side. While the world's attention has shifted across 2008 from China, to the exhausting and exhilarating Campaign Obama and now to the Financial Crisis, I think avid travelers and readers will still get a lot out of Beijing Blur, a story that's takes you behind the Olympic lens.
The UK release date will be around January 20.
Out through Crimson Publishing. Thanks guys. Can't wait.
